Research and academic institutions and non-profit agencies, institutions or industry associations are eligible. Research projects that include the significant participation of an industry partner are strongly favoured.
Research projects must propose a specific research objective, sufficiently narrow in scope to estimate budget requirements and ultimately meet standards of academic peer review.
Research programs must demonstrate a strategic enhancement to Alberta’s longer term research capacity, in line with identified strategic priorities, and demonstrate collaboration or joint participation with relevant third-party organizations.
Strategic projects should demonstrate a credible project champion or proponent who is recognized as such in the business community or sector. In the instance of large or multi-year commitments, suitable levels of co-funding are required.
