Early Stage Venture Fund

The Early Stage Venture Fund moneys are intended to be used to invest in qualified early stage venture capital Limited Partnerships. Preference will be given to locally-managed funds.

Key criteria for evaluation to determine the strategic fit of any Limited Partnership opportunity includes:

• A strong local presence, including one or more Alberta offices.
• Focus on investments in early stage ventures in one or more of the ICT, life sciences and other industrial technology sectors.
• Professional, high calibre, experienced general partner(s) and fund manager(s) able to attract significant private capital leverage and support the likelihood of financial success.
• The general partners shall make direct investments in individual companies based on appropriate and effective due diligence and sound business practices.
