Edmonton, Canada – The Accelerate Fund, an early-stage, angel co-investment fund managed by AVAC Ltd., is proud to announce that they will be a Program Partner of Banff Venture Forum 2016.

BVG LogoBanff Venture Forum is Canada’s premier company financing event. It showcases a select group of technology companies in front of key players in the North American technology sector. The event will be held on September 22 & 23, 2016 at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff, Alberta.

“AVAC Ltd. and the Accelerate Fund have been part of the Banff Venture Forum for many years,” said Warren Bergen, President of AVAC Ltd. “It’s exciting to see new groups of up-and-coming technology companies and help support their ventures.”

This year, there will be three streams of presenting companies: Information Technology, Sustainable Technology, and Health Technology. The Health Technology stream is a new addition to the Banff Venture Forum, and will feature startups developing in MedTech and Devices, Pharma and Biotech, or Health IT.

In addition, the annual Start-up Spotlight will see early-stage companies presenting to the investors at Banff Venture Forum. Bergen is this year’s Start-up Spotlight Chair, while Martin Vetter, Senior Investment Manager at AVAC Ltd., will be part of the Selection Committee and Advisory Board for the Information Technology stream.

AVAC Ltd. and the Accelerate Fund are not only sponsors of the event, but are also attending as investors. AVAC Ltd.’s Ag Tech venture capital group, Verdex Capital, will also be in attendance, joining more than 40 other venture capital and corporate investment firms.
