Investment

Working with a wide array of partners, investees, and sponsors, AVAC plays a critical role as the experienced investor in early-stage companies.

AVAC provides investment at a crucial stage in a company’s life cycle – the pre-commercial, pre-seed and seed stage that many traditional investors avoid. What occurs at this stage is crucial, as it lays the foundation for all of the company’s future commercialization efforts. Investing early means that AVAC takes on substantially more risk than traditional investors are normally willing to take. We work to mitigate this risk by conducting extensive risk and stage of development analysis, and looking closely at the management team behind any venture.

After a company has been selected for investment, we do more than simply provide the investment dollars – we work closely with the management team to strengthen their commercialization efforts and prepare them for future investment. We set high standards for accountability, and successful alumni are obligated to reinvest in AVAC who is able to use this capital to invest in additional pre-commercial enterprises. AVAC's reputation as an informed investor helps our investee companies successfully secure additional resources, including financial capital, senior management and develop intellectual property in the value-added sector.

By investing in a methodical and directed manner and strengthening key business fundamentals in its investees, AVAC is materially benefiting these early-stage companies in their efforts at attracting follow-on debt or equity financing.

The primary uses for AVAC’s pre-commercial investment monyes are management talent access and recruitment, product development, market assessments, establishing samples or prototypes, and strategic plan development.

iConnectivity - NAMM 2013 Wrap Up & Best of Show

“I believe iConnectMIDI4+ deserves the Best of Show distinction, and not just among the iOS related goodies. Sure, Korg's MS-20 mini is impressive, and at an unbelievably low price, but their iMS-20 app beats it in my mind for the workflow advantage of having presets! The iConnectMIDI4+, on the other hand, is offering something totally new and seriously innovative.”
